Pure Sweetness

vogue march 2010

Rangers gooo!

I like those kids! MAAN, they are so cool! Just check out their style, I find it so inspiring! Wolf's outfit for example is perfect in my eyes: colours and proportions (don't know what to say now, but I'm sure you understand where I'm at..) And yeah the jerkin of course... I didn't know there was a dance like that, but its pretty different to the stuff you usually see around and they are so good at it!

Dear Mr. Hendrix

I'm diggin your outfit. Hope you don't mind if I try to copy (and probably fail due to lack of swagger).
Yours sincerely
V.

WOW this voice..

I enjoy listening to her so much!

Thought of Sunday: That's a promise!

Hey, look what I found! What would you write in there? And who would you give it to?

Let me take you on a walk through Prague

A short story in pictures! Enjoy!

Last weekend I went to visit my best friend of all times in Prague. I had such a great time! As it is our tradition, we tried to discover unusual, non touristy places, a lot of art and to experience the true life of the natives.

I fell immediately in love with the market! Everything was set up so carefully and pretty! It gave me such a good mood because it seemed like 1. the market people love their job 2. really care for their fruit and vegetables 3. have a sense of aestetics!!!!!

The astronomical clock.
Here the story i heard: The guy who built it was such a genious that they (hm, not sure who exactly) blinded him so that he would never be able to create something better again in another place. How selfish! So the clockbuilder destroyed a piece of the clock unrepairably. Good one. What a tragedy....

Godot Art Gallery!
What a fun! We found a painting there, of a child in an early renaissance style. It had red swollen eyes and was dressed like a little king. It looked so suffering and funny and angry at the same time that we named him Otto, and laughed about it all day.

The beautiful view beside the Charles bridge

Enjoying the extreme wind on Charles bridge

The art gallery/ club/ bar: The Meetfactory
What a cool place! It's said to be the centre of contemporary art of Prague. It wasn't allowed to take pictures inside, but you can check out their webside. We met so many cool people there, everyone was discussing the exhibition or their own projects and ideas. I would say the atmosphere was perfect for someone who is interested in art in a modern context!

Another recommendation: THE GLOBE poetry café
It's very near the famous "dancing house" (i wasn't too much into it). Perfect hot chocolate and beautiful location. In the front room is a big libary, and the back the café. Artists are exhibiting their work and I think a lot of cultural events take place in there. Anyhow I loved it!

Introduction to old soviet lifestyle: a czech canteen
very unglamourous. very raw. very REAL. wow, we felt like old czech people there, and infact, we were the only two english speaking guests. This is a lentil soup we shared, and despite the looks it was tasty!

And what overwhelming architecure! Prague is really really beautiful! I think I might have another post just about the buildings..

Supposed to be: kelly bag

I made this from the plum stones and rice. My inspiration was that I wanted to make a new kelly bag, one made of brown leather and sheep fur. Haha. You see how that worked out! Well, if you have a lot of imagination you can see where I come from. It was fun to do though, and I like the outcome!.. needs to be framed now!

PLUM JAM

Today my mum and I made plum jam. I'm not too much a fan of living in the countryside, but all this homemade stuff and the work in the garden (we cut a tree down today) is so much fun, and it really makes me appreciate the seasons!

Recipe: 1kg plums, 300g sugar, vanilla powder and a piece of cinnamon. Cook everything, and then stir for 15 minutes (in an 8 shape) while still on the fire, and then stir again for 15 minutes cold. The stiring has the effect that you don't need gelatine to give it the right consistency!

  • light green hydrangea
  • leaves of yellow maple tree
  • branches from the nuttree (with nuts!)

  • snowberry

Wow, he is pretty cool, whatever you may say....

HAPPY Michael's Day!

My mum just told me it's Michael's Day today. Sounds familiar? No... I had no idea but infact its like midsummernight, just midautumnnight where day and night are exactly the same.

Now the night will get longer, and the days shorter. Thinking about this made me look forward to autumn so much! This is what I look forward to most in autumn (and don't let your mood be distracted by rain, and fog, and a runny nose, no no)
  • indulging in any kind of hot beverage, let's say.... a spicey hot chocolate with moroccan butternut biscuits wearing grandma socks
  • dressing scottish: kilt, wool sweater cashmere socks and boots
  • swap sunglasses with gentleman hats and fierce leather gloves
  • tweed!
  • including wild rose hip branches into bouquets for your rooms
  • never sweat!
  • the smell of soil and wood and fire
  • bonfires!!! (can I make a bonfire party?) I imagine it like this: everyone will be dressed in wool and stylish parkas, wellingtons are optional, gloves and hats warmly recommended; I will supply blankets ( I can't help it imagining my parties like editorials... yeah I know this never works out) I could offer pumpkin soup and later hot wine
  • the white skin, red lips and pink cheeks look
  • pretty colourful trees! oh how exciting! leaves! am I reallystill in that age to make leaf animals! YES!

Give me more more more!!!!!!!!!!!

wishlist: wish n° 3

I really really want a peruvian poncho, brightcoloured and with geometrical pattern and soft. I would throw it on whenever I get cold, over any outfit! I haven't found one yet that was soft enough and big enough and even in colours I like, so I am already considering buying a blanket and cutting it open. Do you think that could work??

Dual Sim Phone

I have been thinking about getting a dual sim phone for a while. I simply don't like phones so much! I really just need to call and text, and I guess it would be really practical not have just one instead of two phones with me all the time. So my question is: does you have a dual sim phone already? Any advice, good or bad experiences?

little pig sleeping

I haven't been posting for a year cos I'm a lazy person, and I know a blog only works if you put work in. Now it's time for round 2!
